Ever wondered if you'll be on the chopping block for doing what you're supposed to be doing at work?! I bet you shrugged that thought off. Well, be careful, because it happens more often than you think. You know that saying, "Haters gonna hate, liars gonna lie?" True story. Sometimes, the folks who don't want to do their job correctly also don't want you to do yours correctly, because it draws attention to their inadequacies. They might accuse you of being mean, passive aggressive, or bossy. Well, I mean, children have those complaints when they're told what to do too. Hopefully your company has a back bone and they would take some complaints with a grain of salt, but you never know...until the firing squad shows up. Let's look at some of the things on their radar.

Here are some ridiculously epic ways of getting yourself on the unemployment list:
10. Making the coffee so good everyone wants to work for you. Brew-tal leadership skills - a sure fire way to get canned for being too well liked.
9. Being so productive you get promoted to a better office. Out-productivity your coworkers for a quick way to the unemployment line.
8. Solving problems so quickly others don't get a chance. Stealing thunder (and jobs) with lightning-fast problem solving skills.
7. Filing reports so neatly the auditors get jealous. Paperwork perfectionism; a fire-worthy offense worth committing.
6. Creating a better company logo than the marketing team. Graphic design genius meets career suicide; a match made in HR heaven.
5. Making your coworkers laugh so hard they forget to work. You think you're making friends but your jokes are so funny, you'll be fired for disrupting productivity.
4. Meeting deadlines so early you get extra vacation days. Time management mastery, until you're managing your own exit interview.
3. Organizing the office supply closet to perfection (making others look messy). Supply chain savant; a title that comes with a pink slip.
2. Correcting the CEO's grammar in a company-wide email. The grammar police arrived, with a termination notice in hand.
1. Telling your reports "it's your job to do this, not mine" (ultimate leadership move). The ultimate mic drop that leads to hitting the pavement, looking for work.
While some of these are things you'd be surprised at, just for fun, we made a list of some things you NEVER want to do at work - while they may be funny, they'll surely result in termination. Video below!
So there you have it, folks, the most common ways you could get yourself fired at work, if you're not careful. Be careful! Don't get too comfortable, and don't put anything past anybody. My motto - they are not your friends!
Thanks for stopping by, y'all! Before you go, take a few minutes to play the 'Don't get Fired' game below.
Until next time...
