Let me start by saying I've never taken a pet with me out to eat, but I don't judge you if you do. I think it's cool, and all inclusive, and dogs make me smile--so there's that. If I had more patience and energy I'd take Bailey and Bonita out to eat, but listen--I don't even take their human siblings. Hell, I don't even take myself out to eat! I'd rather eat takeout in my PJs at home.
So but I started thinking about how this trend is picking up more and more around the country and what it would be like to take my girls out to eat. And I bet you could always stand to hear of new places that are pet friendly?! Let's see if there are any surprises on the list of top local pet-friendly restaurants.
The criteria I used for rating the top restaurants was easy and straightforward: outdoor seating allowing pets, indoor seating allowing pets, pet treats and water available for our furry friends, and owner reviews that specifically mentioned pet-friendliness.

Tips. Always call ahead to confirm the up-to-date pet friendly status. Nothing worse than walking in with Mr Whiskers and it's no longer friendly to fur balls. Keep your pet on a leash, please. You may think it's cute when midnight jumps on you, but that old lady down the row might break a hip if your big dog jumps on her. Be sure to clean up after your pet! You don't want to wear out your welcome, remember. Tip extra for accommodations and out-of-their way niceness to your version of man's best friend.
As I write this, my husband wants to know why. Are we taking Bailey or Bonita dining? Um, no thank you, but that's just me. I like to relax when I eat, and nobody's relaxing when my two dogs are in the same room with food--as I learned with a certain chocolate cake. And that pizza that time. And that entire lasagna that one time. I could keep going...
Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy trying out these dining options, let us know how they are!
Mama Gnome, A.K.A. Eliza
