A Walking Advertisement--Can I Get an Endorsement?
So listen, y'all. I'm going to sound like I'm getting paid for this as an advertiser...I'm not. I wish I was. Maybe I should send the company my blog post. Think they'll retro pay me?! It's already posted though. It's not like I'll unpost. So why would they pay unless it were simply out of the kindness of their hearts. Pfft.
Regardless, all jokes aside, moving on. I have to tell you about this app that I found. It's called Maple. It is amazing! I forget why or how I stumbled upon it, but I fell in love with it literally right away. This app has everything you need to stay organized in your household:
- A calendar, complete with syncing ability to any other calendar you already use, and an AI feature that will add stuff to the calendar directly after receiving an email regarding an event etc. With pretty much no steps at all, the whole family has, at their fingertips, everyone else's various calendars that might be needed for various reasons. You can choose to share (or not share) your home, work, bills, appointments, birthday calendars--whatever you have.
- A meal planner. This is a game changer. You can plug in your meal plan for each night, and from there, the app will plug the ingredients into your grocery list, the meal plan on the calendar, the recipe is right there for you, and it'll help you order the groceries on Instacart if you want. Love.
- The weather, which is random, but cool. Okay. So so.
- Your to-do list, along with everyone else's. Feel free to put on that list all of the things that need done, by when, and by who. Or whom. I'm not sure. That's one part of the English language that I literally never understood. I'm not sure why. I'm too old to learn now though. So...who or whom. For the to-do list. Amazing. Edit to add-you can plug in this list to your calendar!
- Chore charts. Along the same lines as the point above, you can plug in your kids' chores, when they should be done, and by who...and guess what?! It gets plugged into your calendar. Which I forgot to mention about the to-do list. Now it's added.
- Family birthdays. You can use this feature for just the immediate family, but I'm guessing everyone knows those dates. How about close friends and extended family? This is another game changer. Think it can be plugged into the calendar?! I think so!
- Bills and finances. There's a whole folder for this--oh, and you can include as many or as little people that you want on each folder. This ensures you can customize the app to fit your needs! I don't know if I want the kids in our bills folder, I haven't decided, but for now--they're not in it.
- A group chat. Obvi you could just do this on text, but how efficient is it to chat right there where your calendar, meal plan, chore chart, and to do list are housed? Chances are, whatever your kid is asking you has something to do with one of those things!!!
The number one thing I love about this app is that they have a usable free version. It's a pet peeve of mine when there's an app that you have to pay for. Why can't anything be free?! You know you make money just by me downloading the app, even if I don't have to pay. And if you offer a paid option with, say, more features, you know people will use it. Because there's a free option, I'm actually more inclined to buy the upgrade. I did with this one, for example. I just had to have all the features, and it's only $9.99/month.
Well, now that I've sufficiently advertised for Maple (somebody tell them), I'll say goodbye, friends. Take care! Until next time...
Mama Gnome, A.K.A. Eliza
